The launch party for Brave on the Page attracted so many people we needed to borrow chairs from the church across the way. (Thank you Pastor Steve!)
About 90 people showed up to listen to eleven readers and to celebrate the book. We had 23 contributors attend, and at the end I asked all of them to come up on stage to be part of the question and answer period.
Liz Prato, Michael Gettel-Gilmartin, Duncan Ellis and me (Laura Stanfill) read from our work. Kristen Forbes, Joanna Rose, Stevan Allred, Steve Denniston, Bart King, Nancy Townsley and Gigi Little read their flash essays from Brave on the Page.
Authors Jon Bell, Shasta Kearns Moore, Stephen O’Donnell, Yuvi Zalkow, Sherri H. Hoffman, Amber Krieger, Martha Ragland, Nicole Marie Schreiber, Tammy Lynne Stoner, Gregg Townsley and Kristi Wallace Knight were also in attendance. So was Annie Denning Hille, who copy edited Brave on the Page along with Nancy Townsley.

nice. looks like a great turn out.
It was amazing, Valerie! A friend told me that the biggest group reading she’s been to had 60 people. I’m so glad I decided not to rent the 40-person venue, although it was really lovely. I’ll just have to come up with another event to host there!
