In preparation for Monday’s event, Powell’s is selling signed editions of Brave on the Page: Oregon Writers on Craft and the Creative Life through its website.
See the ordering details, and a staff review, here.
What’s really exciting is that we’re going to have ten authors at the event, and all ten are expected to sign each copy of Brave on the Page that has been pre-ordered!
If you’re going to attend the event, Powell’s staff ask that you buy a book during the event and have us sign it then. But if you can’t attend, and want to get ten autographs on a $14 book, this is a great way to do it. The authors attending are Kristy Athens (Get Your Pitchfork On!), Jon Bell (On Mount Hood), Kate Gray (poetry books Another Sunset We Survive, Bone-Knowing, Where She Goes), Robert Hill (When All Is Said and Done), Gigi Little (Wright vs. Wrong and The Magical Trunk children’s books), Gina Ochsner (The Necessary Grace to Fall, People I Wanted to Be,The Russian Dreambook of Colour and Flight), Joanna Rose (Little Miss Strange), Scott Sparling (Wire to Wire), Laura Stanfill (founder of Forest Avenue Press) and Yuvi Zalkow (A Brilliant Novel in the Works). Talk about added value!
(Of course we cannot guarantee all signatures on all copies, but that’s the plan. If someone cannot attend due to an emergency, or gets called away early, you might get nine signatures. But still!)
The added benefit of ordering a signed edition? I’d love to see Brave on the Page move up to #1 on the Powell’s small press bestseller list this week!
Congratulations, my dear! Not very many people fill Powell’s on a Monday night. Great program.
