That’s a very good article (and it will get good exposure on Salon, too).
Reading it, I thought about Barbara Ann Wright’s book The Pyramid Waltz, where I kept expecting it to be an issue that two women wanted to get married, and then I realized that, in this world, it wasn’t an issue at all.
That was a very cool feeling — that in writing fiction we can tackle things like this from the other side, imagining a different way things could be. I talked about it on my blog (it’s the #3 point: http://u-town.com/collins/?p=3711).
I definitely find that true of your work, Anthony–creating worlds where certain things aren’t issues. I find U-town utopian in that sense.
